Viewers anticipate impressive cast line-ups for 2011 dramas

With many highly-anticipated dramas slowly wrapping up their preparations, the small screen will soon be filled with top stars for the first half of 2011.
Athena” features an impressive lineup of A-list stars, including Jung Woo Sung, Cha Seung Won, Soo Ae, Lee Ji A, Kim Min Jong, and Super Junior’s Siwon. Many netizens are curious about the beautiful scenery said to be included from filming in six different countries. The series is set to broadcast its pilot episode through SBS on December 13th.
Meanwhile, starting January 5th, SBS’s new Wednesday/Thursday drama, “Sign,” will begin airing as the follow-up to “Daemul.” The drama will detail what goes on behind the doors of the National Institute of Scientific Investigation, and is looking like a sci-fi or supernatural drama. ”Sign” currently has Park Shin Yang, Kim Ah Joong, Uhm Ji Won, and Jung Kyeo Woon as confirmed cast members, and will began filming preparations this month. It’s one of the most highly anticipated dramas for 2011, as it marks Park Shin Yang’s return to the small screen.
MBC is also preparing “My Princess,” the follow-up to “My Joyful House“. The plot for this romantic-comedy drama revolves around the love story between Park Hae Young (Song Seung Hun), the sole heir to a wealthy company, and Lee Seol (Kim Tae Hee), a stingy college student who becomes a princess overnight. Being of a completely different genre from “Sign” and “Athena”, fans have already begun showing their interest for its broadcast.
Other upcoming dramas include KBS 2TV’s “President” and MBC’s “Birdie Buddy,” leaving viewers with much to watch and look forward to for the first half of 2011.
